The History of the Mu Theta Chapter of Lambda Pi Eta dates back to 2000 when Dr. Nelle Bedner, the current Chapter Advisor, applied for and was granted a Charter to induct students into the Mu Theta Chapter. The first group of students we formally inducted in the Fall of 2001. Since its inception, the Mu Theta Chapter has inducted over 80 students. The chapter has gone on to win Chapter of the Year in 2006 & 2008. Dr. Bedner was also honored as Advisor of the Year in 2005 & 2008. The Mu Theta remains the only honor society in the Department of Speech and Public Relations and an active chapter, completing numerous philanthropies, fundraisers and events each year.
